Music as a Journey
Guiding others with patience, joy, and curiosity
“ I owe much of my cultural and intellectual growth to music but specially to teaching itself: since I started doing it, I quickly realized that it represented a precious key to my growth both as a musician and as a human being: It offers me the possibility to create a bridge between other people and what I was lucky enough to receive as a student. I believe that music, at any age but especially for children, can have a very meaningful impact on the development of an individual, and the role of a music teacher is to nourish the intellectual and practical means to understand, communicate, and enjoy music, both as a listener and as a performer.
We are all musical beings who have the right to express through sound: very often the challenge relies in finding beauty in the process of learning, so that making music can be a rewarding and joyful experience instead of a frustrating one.
I know very well how difficult and beautiful this can be and I feel deeply privileged to be able to assist as a patient guidance anyone engaging in this process, being very careful to avoid cognitive overload. Music is an invaluable teacher, and as a teacher myself I feel the responsibility of educating not only tomorrow’s musicians, but especially tomorrow’s listeners, capable inquirers with a personal critique sense, developed through playing, listening, questioning.”
